Douglas Preserve Replacement Tree Removed

A Hinoki false cypress tree planted on a bluff at the Douglas Family Preserve to replace the iconic 70-year-old Monterey cypress that fell during strong winds last month has been removed because, explained city officials, “it is not native to California and not in compliance with the Douglas Family Preserve Management Plan and the city’s municipal code.”
